Like most major urban medical centers, the University of Utah Hospital is landlocked and desperate for expansion space. The INFILL project created 22,000 square feet of new space in a former courtyard surrounded by highly sensitive patient care areas such as the NICU, the Burn Trauma ICU, and the E.D.
This innovative project includes the most forward-thinking Radiology Reading Room Suite in America. 26 state-of-the-art reading stations are arranged in five specialty dedicated reading rooms surrounding a central core to allow for a balance of team focus, cross-team collaboration and physician consultation.
Two new state-of-the-art interventional radiology procedure rooms feature the latest Siemens IR systems including one single-plane and one bi-plane. Designed to maximize patient comfort as well as provider efficiency and satisfaction, these rooms feature indirect lighting and storage for all supplies in warm wood cabinets.
